ABOUT ME:

My name is Sean Eckel and I'm the bassist in the Austin-based band FULL SERVICE with Tim (Bonesaw) and Dave (Hoag) and like them, I give bass lessons when we're not on tour. I'm the newest member of the band, having graduated from Ohio State University in 2009. I moved to Austin after doing a cross country trip exploring the National Parks and joined Full Service this past summer. I recently completed my first tour with the band - a 4-week fall tour.

My strengh as a teacher is in my ability to help bassists learn the different techniques of playing any style of music, but also learning how to use your ear to play better with other muscians. I play by feel and listening and believe that's the most fun and effective way to learn. But most importanly, i will help you discover what YOU want to learn - be it playing songs, writing songs, learning cool tricks, playing in a band.

I've played bass for 10 years but can also play guitar and several other instruments. Lessons with me will include a lot of jamming and having fun!
